Num: Cosy Thai restaurant in central Paris

We stopped into Num the other night, only because our regular restaurant around the corner was closed. I’ve passed by this Thai restaurant many times as it’s located not far from Agnes B. store and upstairs from the UGC Cinema at Les Halles, but was never tempted to go inside because it seems a bit “touristy”. Located in a diverse yet very central shopping and restaurant area close to l’Eglise St. Eustache, it just seemed too busy there.

But that night, we were pleasantly surprised.

As we pushed back the large entrance doors we were welcomed to this thai restaurant with funky house music playing in the background, lovers giggling over champagne and friends chatting over appetizers.

This popular sushi restaurant is one of the best Paris has to offer, but get there early, as seating is limited. Situated beside its sister restaurant “Rice and Beans” on Rue Greneta they offer an exciting menu not likely to be found anywhere else in Paris; a mix of traditional Japanese and California styled sushi.

Try one of their menu options (starting at 10 Euros) or mix and match to your liking. Our favorites include the Krunchy(either shrimps or St. Jaques), Bjork (tereyaki salmon with avocado) and Rasta (the vegetarian choice).

Cupcakes at Chloes Paris

Walking into Chloe’s Cupcakes Paris, can send a couple of sensations through you, the two most notable would probably be:
1. the feeling that you’re in Don and Betty Draper Kitchen a la Mad Men 1960s ( alas an all in pink one)
2. that everything smells and looks so good!

Chloe’s offers a wide variety of cupcakes and even does special cake ordering and cooking classes here in Paris. Its a cool place to grab a quick sweet treat, or hang out with the girls, or take the kids.

Tip: call in advance if you plan on going with a big group, as you might need to make reservations.
