Some people might call Le Floreal a typical dive bar in Paris. But I beg to differ. Inside this recently refurbished cafe you’ll find Mondrian inspired decor meets the neighborhoods signature mix of dirty and chic. Hey! It’s in the Goncourt / Belleville area. What else would you expect. There is a wide array of cocktails and wine selection.
They serve a mix of bistro styled traditional and american food such as Steak tartare, Hamburgers and Caesar salads. All of which I’ll give a thumbs up. Be warned this is not high cuisine – but the meals are above average and the ambiance is one that’s a little bit hipster and a little bit classic.
A few times I’ve been there I saw some folks enjoying what looked like some fresh seafood – lobster, oysters and shrimps – so some of the selection can be a bit on the pricy side. If you’ve tried their seafood let me know how you liked it!
Also if you’re a chocolate lover you have to try their Moelleux au Chocolat cake!
The terrace wraps around the Bistro, a great place to have an after work drink or people watch.
The Goncourt metro is across the street.
