The Oberkampf neighbourhood of Paris has no shortage of places to chill and enjoy a good burger at the same time. Case in point; La Royale. That’s a few meters away from Blend Hamburger and the Merci Cafe.
I’ve been there a few times for lunch with my son. Inside I enjoyed their old Parisian bistro style decor. Outside, drinks on their large terrace looking out to Filles du Calvaire is one of our favorite friday afternoon activities. They also offer Brunch on Sundays.
Today I’d like to review one of the most frequent things I have on their menu – the cheeseburger.
The Plate: Bacon Cheeseburger at La Royale.
Temperature asked: Well done
Temperature received: Well done
Price: 15 Euros
Ambiance: Casual Trendy
Presentation: simple
Service: Ok, Friendly
Made with real bacon, ladies and gentlemen! Not ‘jambon’ like many Parisian places do. Came with a side of fries (not oily or too crisp) and small side of salad with a creamy dressing. Beefy burger patty. The bun was ok, but not homemade. All in all a decent burger, that I would recommend.
