May in Paris has lots in store for the first time traveller or the local expat. ?Some of you guys reading this come back every month for the to do list, and many of you are first time visitors to the site and to paris. So with that in mind I’m (slightly) changing the format to please both of you.
This means I’ll be including information on the present weather, new hotels I’ve discovered and other things that might pertain to a first trip to Paris.
For my regulars you’ll still find info on where to eat, what new to see in the galleries and what to do with the kids on the weekend.

Eat – Carette, Places de Vosges
More than just some of the best Macarons you’ll taste in Paris. Carette is an institution for the best spot to enjoy coffee (or tea) in the cutest of porcelain cups and plates. Their lunch salads are so exotic?( crabs , shrimps, avocados), they don’t come cheap but you won’t regret it.

Drink – Bertie
The perfect place to take a break from the days sightseeing in a neighbourhood that’s quite chic. Bertie is located on a quite side street just beside .. and the stature. Waiters speak english and you’ll be surrounded by a mix of business casual and big sunglasses wearing types. Don’t expect anything fancy or innovative on the menu and the prices are a bit high – it’s just good to have a drink.

Wander – Passage Moliere
I don’t know why I haven’t shared this with you guys before. But it’s one of my favorite and most hidden places in Paris. The cutest (colorful) artisan shops line the passage and at the end you’ll find a wine bar renowned by locals for its selection and food. ?Close to Centre George Pompidou, Anti-cafe, and Les Halles.

Visited this new hotel recently and fell in love with the cinematic decor and the conscientious staff. ?Central located walking distance to the?Marais?or Centre George Pompidou or even the Seine. Just across the street from my sons favorite?museum La Gaite Lyrique.

Tips – Paris ?Weather in?May
This first week of May has been really wet and you’ll still need a jacket if not a coat with temperatures averaging 13*C / 55*F. ? I’d say if your thinking of what to pack; definitely a light waterproof jacket and you can buy some umbrellas here. The rain never last very long in Paris, so it will be here today and gone tomorrow.

?G I R L? is a contemporary art exhibition, which brings together?approximately 40 artworks ? including 10 specially produced works.
The exhibition will be presented in Galerie Perrotin?s new space, the?Salle de Bal, a former ballroom at the H?tel du Grand Veneur, a 17th?century H?tel Particulier in the Marais area of Paris. This selection of?artists close to the gallery and the musician form a kind of operatic opus,?where muses have come together to pay tribute to femininity through?the vision of 34 artists ? 16 of whom are women.
