My parisian life

Boot Cafe: Paris smallest coffee shop

You’d most likely only run into Boot Cafe in the Marais area of Paris, by hazard because it’s on such a quint little street that doesn’t get much traffic foot or car.  Which means you can enjoy a cup of jo in sweet tranquility at the bar or at one of their 2 tables ( yes you read that right – like I said they are tiny!)
Address: [19 rue du pont aux choux, Paris 75003]
But what they lack in size they make up in character ( some good things do come in small packages).
After chatting up Melodie at the bar I got to talking about her band, life in Paris, and the decor of all the postcards on the walls. You can even buy back issues of the old magazines on display.
It’s said that this cafe is made for walking – as the space is so small – but I’ve found that instead of take-away I just wanted to stay and enjoy my coffee there.

For years I’ve passed this little spot – before it was a coffee shop – and admired the blue “Cordonnerie”* sign / door from the outside. (*Cobbler)

You’ll be happy to find great coffee here now (from Belleville roasters) with a warm service from the friendly baristas.  When I visited the cakes and other pastries were made by Emperor Norton.
