Where in Paris can you get a decent french meal???52 Fb Saint Denis.?Simple french cuisine done with excellent execution.
The best seat in the house is right up front by the glass wall as you can easy peep out now and again over you dish, sip your wine and take in the Parisian pedestrians. It’s from here that you can also see the restaurant come alive; the a sort of panoramic view of the bar, the bigger tables, some marble tops some simple dark green surface, all elegantly topped?with some of the best glassware, seating people from all ages, mostly with the appreciation for good wine, food and loud chatter.
We went in the afternoon, and could easily see ourselves going back for many more lunches and dinners. ?The afternoon crowd was a mix of business and pleasure, locals and visitors.
The interesting thing was here’s a place that at first seemed skeptical – I mean come on another minimalist bistro, with stripped down walls and menu? Is this some sort of hipster trap? Wait am I a hipster? ?gasp!
?I assure you it so not a trap! and as to the hipster bit peu importe!
When our plates arrived I was in awe and even though anxious to eat was so pleased with the “artistic”?- can I even say that – oh well, “artistic” presentation of the plate. and damn! it was good, really good, all the textures and colors went so well together. The bits of pomegranate, shredded brussels sprouts on the bed of bulgur all hiding and surrounding the pullock created a culinary adventure in one plate. this is why we pay to eat out after all – to be introduced to combination or reinventions of traditional recipes that we have or have not heard, of or even dare try at home!
