Best Barbershops in Paris

It?s no secret that from time to time, us males like to treat ourselves to a little bit of beauty therapy. I?m not talking about nail polish, fruity body washes or tanning, but what I am talking about is the fabulous sensation of a fresh shave. For centuries, the art of shaving is one that many respect, but that little have actually mastered. Not many ordinary hairdressers can take a cut-throat razor and bring that baby smooth feeling back to a man?s face. So if you?re in need of a little man-scraping, here is a list of renowned barbershops around Paris that may be able to help.

Another retro male only barber, this time located in the ninth district of Paris not too far from Gare du Nord. From Tuesday to Thursday, you can walk in without an appointment, otherwise to see the stylist on Friday or Saturday you will need to arrange a time.

This is not only a haircut and shaving salon, it is also a museum of old school barber memorabilia based in the beautiful Marais. Alain, the stylist, brings years of experience and flair to traditional shaves, hair styling and beard trimming, whilst also offering shaving classes. The salon is open from Tuesday to Saturday but call for an appointment.

A more modern take on the barbershop is L?Atelier Gentlemen in the stunning Montmartre village in the north of Paris. The mission of this salon is to provide absolute precision when it comes to cutting and styling your head or facial hair. So if you crave more of a 21st Century feel, L?Atelier Gentlemen might just be the place. Open from Tuesday to Saturday.

Another modern but high-end interpretation of a barber salon, La Barbiere De Paris is extremely well known in the industry due to its portfolio of work. The senior staff includes female stylists, but don?t think they have any less expertise when it comes to your moustache, because this salon has worked with brands that include Braun and Tommy Hilfiger, starred on several French television shows and one of the stylists is the author of a beard and moustache book. A second salon is located in the ninth district within walking distance from Gare du Nord.
