My parisian life

Lunch in Paris: Siseng

With the Canal Saint-Martin in walking distance from my apartment, my friends and I seem to find ourselves in the 10th arrondissement most of the time for great shopping, eating and people watching. We recently scurried into Siseng on the canal at the end of the lunch hour and were not disappointed. There was a lack of signage or menus but the crowd and their hearty plates drew us in. We sat ourselves at a communal table with a couple of hip girls enjoying mid-day cocktails and eyed their savory meals until the friendly waiter came by prepared to take our order.

I opted for their lunch formule, which included a soft drink or house soda with a choice of Bao Burger and a side of sweet potato fries. The house made lemon and ginger soda mixed with my pineapple bao burger created the perfect sweet and savory rest stop. The sweet potato fries were otherworldly. Do not be afraid of the secret sauce, it is your friend.

My friend could not resist and had the noodle bowl our fashionable tablemate devoured before us. We both were so immersed in our meals when we looked up 20 minutes later our food was gone and we were ready to continue our shopping binge. I paid a bit over 20 euro for a memorable meal, amazing service and warm atmosphere.

For you night owls, they also have an enticingly decorated bar with carefully crafted cocktails. Passing by at night it seems like an intimate setting to have a drink with friends before heading over to Le Comptoir G?n?ral, which is conveniently right next door.
