PARIS STUDENT STORIES: Simona Ivkovic

how to be a student in paris

A little bit about yourself:

My name is Simona, Im from Toronto, ?Canada. I study Languages and recently had placement at Mary Mount International School of Paris.

Why Paris?

I?m studying French, but also I?ve visited Paris a few times, but I wanted to live here and see the city from a local perspective.

What is your ?Must See? in Paris?

There are a few recommendations to experience while your in Paris, but the essential is going to a rooftop space like Perchoir or ?the top of Printemps. You get awesome views and vibes of the city from Parisian rooftops.

What would be your Best Experience in Paris?

Simply getting lost in the streets and stumbling across cool spots. ?I also really love wandering the city at night after watching the sun set from Pont Alexandre III.

Favourite bar / caf? / restaurant in the city?

My favourite place to grab a coffee was Caf? Kitsune located in the gardens at Palais Royale in the 1st Arrondissement. It has great coffee and tea, and it?s great sitting out in the garden.

Favourite District and Why?

My favourite district in Paris was the 2nd Arrondissement around Chatelet-Les Halles. There weren?t many tourists, mostly locals but there is a great abundance of perfect caf?s and boutique shops.

Any Advice?

I definitely recommend to explore the lesser known areas, don?t be afraid to see some of the other districts further out of the main city sights. Meet real locals.
