My parisian life

Dinner in Paris: Bouillon 47, rue de Rochechouart Paris 75009

Bouillon is a small restaurant in Paris offering a romantic evening in the trendy south Pigalle (so-pi) area. ?You’ll find typical french food revisited in the neo-bistro fashion.

How we ended up here was purely by chance, we were not looking for something chic and romantic – my friend was visiting for the weekend from London and I wanted to find a place near to her office here and remember passing by this place last week (and it looked cute, so I thought let’s give it a try!) and boy were we happy we did.

We started with a Pissaladiere as appetizer (traditional from the south with anchovies) so light crunchy and yummy – but this was unlike any of the very dry and over-doughed versions I’ve had in Nice or Juan Le Pin!

You’ll find many vegetarian and fish options on this limited card – we both took the fish dishes and finished with a shared?French Toast or “Pain Perdue” as they call it here. It was huge and we did the right thing just ordering one to share.

The look of everything including the desert was perfectly sculpted I felt like a kid crushing a beautifully contracted sand castle eating everything here – but there was that sadistic satisfaction of being the destroyer of such gorgeous and yummy delights. hahahaha!

The french toast was also unlike any I’ve had before: ?crunchy caramel thin banana sheets on top and diced banana sprinkled around.

The ambiance was a mix of well to do 30 somethings and older with soft chatter and laugher. ?A relaxing atmosphere made even more enjoyable by the attentive waiters and simple decor.

If you’re thinking of having a birthday dinner with a group of friend I’d highly recommend Bouillon and I can’t wait to go back to try more of their wine.

Until next time …eat well 🙂
