Last week My Parisian Life blog was invited to the Africa Now gallery opening and fashion show at Galeries Lafayette and wanted to share a few photos with you!
France has a rich history with the african continent, with countries such as the Ivory Coast, Benin, Mali and Senegal to name a few and many of the culture is alive and bursting in Paris today. Lately there has been an appreciation* for the richness and diversity not just within the population?but also within French Fashion and kudos to one of the biggest department stores in France for an initiate that honors tradition and incorporates contemporary Africa in France.
It was animated and lively with gospel singers, dancers and models parading decades of African fashion from various countries.
Colorful, lively, invigorating, this spring and summer African art & creation takes center stage at Galeries Lafayette Paris Haussmann.
A brand new campaign “Africa Now” beginning with the opening of the brand new?art gallery exhibition?entitled “Le Jour Qui Vient” at the Galerie des Galeries.
Until June 25th, discover art, fashion, pop-up markets, exclusives & previews that are sure to leave a lasting impression.
It’s something special that the Galeries Lafayette Haussman is now open on Sunday too (if you’ve been to Paris before you know that everything shuts down for Sunday Monday pause)…
