I’m so excited to share with you guys a cool tour I did with Hilton and BHV of le Marais. Paris is a vast city with layers of culture to explore, and it can be difficult knowing where to start. May I suggest, le Marais. With the best of both local and iconic Paris, and a rich heritage of history, art, fashion and some of the best eateries in the world, you will not be disappointed.
We started with our friendly tour guide at the famous BHV department store, a super central location, really easy to get to from anywhere in Paris. Our English speaking guide did a great job of mixing street art stories with historical facts, even showing us some hidden gems where the Parisian locals shop.
From great food options on la Rue de Rosier and aristocratic architecture on la Place des Vosges, to a world-class art scene in Centre Pompidou and Musee Picasso, not to mention Lux shopping everywhere–the walking tour was the perfect way to get a feel for this wonderful neighbourhood.
Some of my fave places:
Mi-Va-Mi – you know I’ve eaten at ALL the falafel places in the Marais on la Rue des Rosier and this one is my favourite.
Place des Vosges – is one of my favourite parks to have a picnic as soon as the weather gets warm – because you’re surrounded by the magnificent fountain and Parisian aristocratic buildings.
Centre Pompidou – if only for the view at the top! Go to this modern art museum and have a look at some of the most celebrated French and international artists. It’s even kid-friendly.
The full article is up on the Hilton blog – so definitely go there to see my list of recent discoveries.
