So over on Instagram, I asked you guys to share your favorite French beauty pharmacy brands (that you either use or stock up on while you visit) and we had a lot of views and 24 people responding. Thank you guys so much.
We all know that French women are coveted for their effortless beauty and fashion style so its o wonder we can get obsessed with buying the same things.
And for good reason, because unlike more countries beauty is not seen as an entity apart from a woman (or man) it’s realy a part of the lifestyle – so much so that it must be understated. So french beauty is traditionally linked to really good basic (often time pharmacy brands) skincare lines.
It’s rare to see French women with lots of makeup. Tasseled hair and a red lip are the standards. But I’m seeing that the younger millennials are following the youtube and insta video trends from abroad trying many more makeup looks than the women in their 30s and up.
We love Sephora, Marionnaud, and Nocibe for make-up, but the majority of our cult skincare brands are actually in the local pharmacy.
Anyways, Here are the results from you :
- Nuxe – 5 votes
- La Roche Posay – 4 votes
- Bioderma – 3 votes
- Caudalie – 3 votes
- Avene – 2 votes
- Noreva – 1 vote
- Phytospecifics – 1 vote
- Vichy – 1 vote
- Cattier – 1 vote
And CityPharma getting 3 votes for the best place to shop while in Paris.

The links will take you to the Amazon product page so you don’t have to worry if you can’t make it to Paris anytime soon 🙂
Obviously, this is not an exhaustive list, but I’d love to have your two cents if you want to add to the list.
Some folks on Facebook have asked for Embryolisse to be added to the list 🙂

MY BEAUTY ROUTINE
My personal beauty routine is simple – I wash with Belif creamy cleanser, use Givenchy Hydra cream and Micellar water, MAC for fondation when I do (also found that Yves Rocher has a good bio fondation in my color, but it’s more for cold weather as I tend to sweat more when I wear it!). And I love my Darphin products – the Nectar Aux 8 fleur smells like heaven and i use a little bit when I go without makeup, it calms my skin and really gives me a healthy glow.
Also, I have a stack of NYX lipsticks that I mix with some Makeup Forever, YSL and Givenchy. I can never findmy exact shade so I mix a lot – I love subtle, nonglossy but somewhat dark lipsticks ( like Le Rouge Givenchy 307)
From time to time (if I’m feeling like I want to add some shimmer I’ll use my Fenty Beauty Killawatt powder)
OH MY GOD – yes I forgot to tell you guys I discovered a glow stick from Catrice ( I think they are a German brand, not sure) anyways their new Dewy Wet Look Stick is my everything! Its supposed to be for cheeks and whatnot, but I carry it in my purse for my lips as it’s the perfect no color lipstick.
I also love to go to the Spa and this one is my favorite in Paris. ..
