Ideally located rue Charles Feige, the busy main street, just a few steps from the church and its horse-drawn carriages, le Cœur de Megève well deserves its name ! It was redesigned entirely, two years ago by architect Sybille de Margerie and since then has become one of the nicest hotels in Megève.
The Cœur de Megève reopened on 22nd of December 2018, after complete renovation. Sybille de Margerie wanted the hotel to become as lively warm and cosy as it was before, in a setting of pure elegance and simplicity, between past and present. The 4 star hotel consists of two chalets joined together obviously showing a mountain style architecture. Part of the façade has been covered with « tavaillons », which are wooden tiles reminding Savoyard roofs, but in a modern way. The 39 rooms and suites, most of them with terraces or balconies, have been decorated in a “mountain” style : clean pure lines adapted to the taste of the times with brushed walnut-wood or Hainaut blue stone.
We like : the bathrooms with their taupe-coloured ceramic wash-basins the copper taps
We love : the restaurant La Muse, its alcoves papered with jacquard pattern reminding us of ski sweaters, its large bay windows opening on to the main street and overlooking the river. The menu offers local food from seasonal products in a revisited style and timeless recipes. Note that the restaurant is extended by a terrace. In the bar called La Meige you will see an amazing scuplture of a skier, and you will enjoy excellent cocktails such as 5 different Spritz or healthy seasonal fruit and vegetable drinks prepared with talent and passion by expert mixologist Thomas Bencze.
