I hope this blog post finds you in the best of spirits and surrounded by all things delightful! Today, we’re taking you on a fragrant journey through the cobblestone streets of Paris, where the air is filled with whispers of enchanting scents from the finest French perfumeries. Yes, my loves as we are in the love month of February what a better topic than perfumes in Paris right now?
Let’s dive into the realm of niche perfumes, where each bottle holds a story, a memory, and a touch of Parisian charm. Here are our top picks for the most exquisite fragrances gracing the shelves of a hand full of Parisian boutiques right now:
- **Diptyque – Do Son or Olène**: Transport yourself to a blooming garden with the ethereal scents of jasmine, tuberose, and peony. I tried the Do Son and thought it too subtle so i got the Olene instead in a 100 ml bottle and it’s so good I hope it lasts forever. An instant mood booster.
- **Kilian – Angel’s Share**: Indulge in the warm embrace of cognac notes blended with cinnamon, oakwood, and praline. So I have to say when I first tried this at Nose ( a nicher perfume shop in my old neighborhood) I literally said to the lady helping me – “hmmm I don’t see what’s so special?” 1 hour later I was sitting at Escrgot about to order and rolled up my sleeve to smell its beauty on my skin – i could melt into it! It was indeed lovely.
- **Maison Francis Kurdjikan – Baccarat Rouge 540 or Oud Silk Mood**: Experience the opulence of Baccarat crystal in a captivating blend of amber, saffron, and cedarwood. I personally got the Oud Silk Mood – and had my name etched in the glass bottle for a sweet personal touch!
- **Frédéric Malle – Musc Ravageur**: Embrace your sensuality with this intoxicating blend of musk, vanilla, and spices. Another more vanilla blend, the name is misleading as it’s not a heavy Musk.
- **Goutal – Eau d’Hadrien**: Revel in the timeless elegance of Sicilian lemon, citron, and grapefruit. Annick Goutal was a model turned Nose that has been shaking up the perfume world here since 1980s – this is one of her first and iconic fragrances.
- **L’Artisan Parfumeur – Mure et Musc**: Embark on a sensory adventure with the innovative and artistic creations of L’Artisan Parfumeur.
PS Just about anything they do will lead you to heaven!! I once bought a banana-scented perfume here BANA BANANA, that I heard on the DL they will discontinue soon so I am holding on to dear life. I now have to get my bottle of Fou d’Absinthe from Sephora as they are out of stock.
- **Molinard – Habanita**: Wrap yourself in the smoky, mysterious allure of leather, vetiver, and vanilla. One of the oldest and most mysterious perfumes – only a few places sell it outside of their boutiques, so you can always buy it in their shop. So definitely worth a visit on your next trip here.
- Also an area good to wander around and do more shopping! hahaha
- **Fragonard – Fleur d’Oranger or Etoile**: Let the delicate blossoms of orange blossom or the celestial notes of jasmine transport you to a garden in full bloom. They own the Perfume Museum of France and if you ever go to the South of France I highly suggest you go spend a day in the perfume town of Grasse and visit their factory. I have sensory chills when I remember the charm of the town and the amazing tour of the perfume mecca.
- **Sézane – L’eau Sézane**: Embrace French chic with this fresh and modern fragrance inspired by the essence of Parisian style. I have to say I am yet to try this one! But I have friends who own it and they have good taste so it made the list.
- **Buly Universelle**: Discover the timeless elegance of Buly’s signature scents, crafted with care and tradition. The most impressive thing is their boutiques and all their old-fashioned yet “rich auntie” vibes and extra accessories. You can even set up a facial spa in the back at their studio in the Marais. This is also one of the most beautiful Italian-style cafe bars in Paris (yes inside the beauty shop!).
- **Parfums Marly – Delina**: Unleash your inner romantic with this captivating bouquet of Turkish rose, lychee, and rhubarb. The bottles are to die for and before you even ask why so expensive – well they are using the highest grade of ingredients in their perfumes.
- **BDK – Bouquet de Hongrie**: Step into a floral paradise with this enchanting blend of rose, jasmine, and iris made in Paris. I first discovered them inside BHV Marais – a department store here that is not the fanciest but it’s a place I can run into easily in between my tours. On this day I was trying to find the perfect traditional rose perfume and thier rose perfume was a musky tinge to it that struck me!
