My parisian life

June Paris Things to Do

Bonjour June and Goodbye, Rainy May!

Wow, what a month it was! May turned out to be the rainiest one I’ve experienced in my 17 years here. And boy, oh boy, was I happy to say “baby bye bye bye”

But now, it’s time to welcome June with open arms and sunnier weather. I’ve got some fantastic local spots and must-do activities to share with you this month.

We are on the heels of Roland Garros tennis championships and the Annual Nuit Blanche (museum night on June 1st)

Paris Weather:

June in Paris means warmer temperatures and longer days, perfect for exploring the city. Expect daytime highs ranging from 20°C to 24°C (68°F to 75°F) and cooler evenings with lows around 12°C to 15°C (54°F to 59°F). While occasional rain showers are possible, they are usually brief, so it’s a good idea to carry a light raincoat or umbrella.

Don’t worry though you can easily pick one up here or ORDER ONLINE HERE

With up to 16 hours of daylight, you’ll have plenty of time to soak up the sights and sounds of Paris.

What to Pack:

Packing for June and summer in Paris is all about light layers and versatile pieces. Here’s a checklist of essentials to ensure you’re well-prepared:

– Light layers like t-shirts, blouses, and light sweaters

– Comfortable bottoms such as jeans, trousers, or skirts

– Shorts for warmer days, yes we wear shorts here despite what some others may say.

– A light raincoat or umbrella

– Comfortable walking shoes and sandals, because Paris is a walking city

– Sunglasses, a hat, and a lightweight scarf

– A crossbody bag or backpack for daily use, the best anti pickpocket investment!

– Sunscreen, travel-sized toiletries, and a reusable water bottle

– A travel adapter, portable charger, camera, and guidebook/map

Where to Stay:

Whether you’re on a budget or seeking luxury accommodation, Paris offers a range of options to suit every traveler’s needs. This month I wanted to focus on 3 price options for you:

Budget – Hôtel Libertel Canal Saint-Martin:

Affordable and well-connected, this hotel in the 19th arrondissement offers a local Parisian experience. You can easily walk to the Canal St Martin and explore local Paris life.

What to Do:

June in Paris is full of excitement, from exhibitions to dining experiences:

– Exhibitions: While the Paris 2024 summer exhibitions may not be thrilling to my taste ( I am a major lover of Yves Saint Laurent but do disappointed in the latest Transparent exhibition), the refreshed Dior exhibition at La Galerie Dior is a must-visit!

– Dining: Indulge in pastries at Ernest Bakery a stone’s throw from the Louvre Museum ( so perfect if you’ll be around there) , traditional French cuisine at Au Pied du Cochon ( also walking distance from the Louvre), and upscale dining with a view at Café de l’Homme ( get ready to be blown away by the menu and view!)

Where to Drink:

After a day of exploring, unwind at these top spots for drinks in Paris:

Le Duc de Lombards: Perfect for jazz lovers, this iconic jazz club offers an intimate setting and a fantastic vibe in the central Les Halles neighborhood.

Café de Flore: A classic Parisian cafe beloved by writers and artists, ideal for sipping coffee or wine and soaking up the atmosphere. It’s a bucket list item, but the waiters can be snobbish! So proceed at your own risk.

Rerenga: Discover local French wines at this charming wine bar, where each bottle is handpicked for its quality and character.

Where to Shop:

Don’t forget to indulge in some retail therapy at these Parisian shopping spots:

Rouje: For chic Parisian fashion with a playful twist, head to Rouje in the 2nd arrondissement. It’s very similar to Sezane but a bit more sexy and playful.

Address: 11 bis Rue Bachaumont, 75002 Paris

Galeries Lafayette: Shop for reasonably priced and luxury designs under one roof, and don’t miss the panoramic views from the rooftop terrace. It’s my favorite department store because it truly has everything when I want to save time.

Address: 40 Bd Haussmann, 75009 Paris

Le Dressing de Zankara: Explore stunning dresses and unique jewelry at this boutique in the trendy Etienne Marcel neighborhood. A mother-daughter duo making colorful one of a one-of-a-kind creations!

Address: 9 Rue Tiquetonne, 75002 Paris

Phone: 01 42 36 20 60
