I’ve lived in this vibrant city, and for the past seventeen years, I’ve had the privilege of being a tour guide, sharing my passion for Paris with visitors from all over the world. From the charming streets of Montmartre, where I call home, to the iconic landmarks and hidden gems scattered across the city, Paris never ceases to amaze me. Now, I’m bringing that same love and knowledge to you through my podcast, Local Paris. Just another fun extension of what I do here!
A Passion for Paris: How “Local Paris PODCAST” Came to Be
Hi, I’m Yanique, a Parisian by choice and a guide by passion. Over the years, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for everything that makes Paris special—its food, fashion, architecture, and rich history. After finishing the Local Paris book, I wanted to bring you more!
These are the things I share daily on my Instagram, and now, I’m thrilled to bring them to life in a new way through my podcast, Local Paris.
Every week, I invite you to walk with me through the streets of Paris, exploring the places I love most. Local Paris is all about experiencing the city as if you were a true Parisian. Each episode focuses on a specific street, where I delve into its history, culture, shops, cafes and the unique atmosphere that makes it stand out. In a fun and casual way.

You can use it as your own audio walking guide.
So far, I’ve released three episodes, each highlighting a different Parisian street:
– Episode 1: Rue Montorgueil – We begin our journey on Rue Montorgueil, one of the liveliest market streets in Paris. From its famous food shops to its historic cafes, this episode captures the essence of Parisian daily life.
– Episode 2: Rue Saint-Louis en l’Île – Next, we stroll down Rue Saint-Louis en l’Île, a picturesque street on the Île Saint-Louis. This episode uncovers the charm of this small island, from its stunning architecture to its artisanal boutiques.
– Episode 3: Rue du Petit Thouars – Finally, we explore Rue du Petit Thouars, a street known for its trendy shops and vibrant art scene. In this episode, I share insights into the creative energy that makes this area a hotspot for locals and visitors alike.
Each episode is like giving you a taste of what it’s like to truly live and breathe Paris- please let me know what you think in the comments.
Behind the Microphone: The Making of “Local Paris”
Creating Local Paris has been a natural extension of my work as a tour guide. Every day, I walk these streets, uncovering stories and meeting people who add to the rich tapestry of Parisian life. The podcast allows me to bring these experiences to a wider audience, giving you a glimpse into the Paris that I know and love.
One of the joys of this project is being able to share the little things that make Paris so special—the corner bistro where I grab my morning coffee, the hidden gardens that offer a peaceful retreat, and the vibrant markets that are the heart of each neighborhood. These are the details that often go unnoticed, but they are what make Paris feel like home.
Why Paris?
Having lived in Paris for over 10 years, I’ve seen the city from every angle. What continues to fascinate me is how Paris constantly evolves while still holding onto its timeless charm. Local Paris is my way of sharing that ongoing love affair with the city, showing you not just the famous landmarks, but the everyday beauty that makes Paris so unique.
Through this podcast, I hope to give you an insider’s view of Paris, one that goes beyond the guidebooks and offers a genuine connection to the city’s soul.
