A surprise dinner in Le Marais for Valentine’s Day? My 2025 bingo cards are already looking very chic and yummy!
So when we pushed open the door and were greeted with a warm smile before being led upstairs to a spacious, candlelit second floor, I knew Benoît had made a great choice.
Date nights are always special, but this one felt extra meaningful—because not only was it Valentine’s Day, it was also our four-year anniversary! Whaaat?! Where did the time go?
But here we were, two people fully adulting, fully in love, and fully ready to eat.
The Meal
To start, I had the burrata with jambon de Parme, a creamy dream beautifully topped with dried rose petals and violet flowers. Meanwhile, Benoît went for the escargots XL, which, of course, meant I had to steal some of that buttery, garlicky sauce—because honestly, is there anything better than dipping toast into that goodness?
For the main course, he chose the steak, while I went for the duck confit. Both came with perfectly crispy, thinly sliced fries—cooked à la perfection!
By the time dessert rolled around, I swore I had no space left… but let’s be real, you can’t celebrate an occasion like this without cake. So we went for the mi-cuit au chocolat, and wow. The warm, molten center, paired with a silky crème anglaise, was chef’s kiss.
The Verdict
Everything? A 10/10.
