As a local tour guide and longtime resident of Montmartre, I often get asked, “Where do Parisians shop up here on the hill?” The short answer: we don’t only shop in Montmartre—but when we do, it’s usually for vintage finds, everyday basics, or something unique with a story.
Let me take you through my go-to spots for fashion, beauty, kids’ clothes, and more. Whether you’re just wandering through for an afternoon or staying in a Montmartre hotel like Terrass” or Le Basss, here’s how to shop like a local—on a real Parisian budget.

Vintage & Secondhand – The Heart of Montmartre Style
Some of the best shopping in Montmartre is found tucked into secondhand stores and vintage boutiques—perfect if you’re after that effortless Parisian charm. Not so much high end luxury vintage as much as a mixed bag – I have found everything from Prada to Nike.
My favorites:
- Chine Machine – A beloved vintage boutique with curated racks of quirky, colorful pieces.
- Yalla Vintage – Great for oversized blazers, denim, and real statement pieces.
- La Blouse de Lyon – Think cool, casual, French streetwear and unexpected gems.
- Guerrisol (Barbès location) – A true local spot for treasure hunting on a budget. I often shop the men’s section here for mohair sweaters and wide-leg trousers.
- Rue D’Orsel – take a walk on this street to find some of the lesser known vintage shops for clothing and home items.
Pro Tip: I go to these shops weekly just for a “quick check-in.” You never know what you’ll find, and the stock turns over fast. If you’re visiting and want to save time – all these locations are in a 10 min walking from each other!
French High Street Favorites
Montmartre isn’t about haute couture—but we do have some solid high-street French fashion brands. For trend-conscious style and wearable wardrobe staples, check out:
- Sandro – Chic Parisian fashion with a modern edge – both men and women.
- Maje – Feminine silhouettes and polished looks, this location is an outlet store.
- Ba&sh – Parisian boho with effortless layering pieces, great summer dresses.
- A.P.C. Surplus – For minimal, high-quality basics (great for men and women). This particular location in Montmartre, has old seasons and lower prices. so definitely worth a visit!
- Anthology – amazing leather shoes! they have a location just beside Sacre Coeur and one that is on rue de Martyrs.
Women’s Fashion – Casual to Chic
If you’re curating your Parisian wardrobe, Montmartre has some solid spots for everyday pieces:
- Monoprix – Think of it as the French Target! I grab everything from kids’ basics to cozy mohair sweaters here. Their summer collection is always on my list of what I want to pack for the holiday with their linen and cotton line.
- Veja – The cult-favorite eco sneaker brand has a small shop worth popping into – just beside Chine Machine Vintage>
- Jonak – Affordable French-made shoes and sandals. Great quality at great prices.
- Princess Tam Tam – Lingerie and sleepwear with Parisian flair.
Jewelry – Delicate Finds & Local Designers
For meaningful souvenirs or everyday sparkle, I love:
- Yay – Dainty gold and silver jewelry, handmade in Paris.
- Une Fille – Affordable and playful accessories.
- Amaya – Thoughtfully designed pieces perfect for gifting (or self-gifting!).
- Les Nereides – Porcelaine type fine jewelry.
Beauty & Skincare – Pharmacie Favourites + Indie Finds
You don’t need to go far to find Parisian skincare staples. Whether you’re gifting or stocking up, these shops carry trusted French brands:
- Monop’ Beauté – Your one-stop shop for Caudalie, Nuxe, SVR, Bioderma, and more.
- Caudalie Spa (Rue des Abbesses) – Pop in for a treatment or just grab your favorite Vinoperfect serum.
- Oh My Cream! – A beautifully curated selection of clean beauty and niche skincare.
- Horace – Minimalist skincare for men that women love too.
Kids’ Clothing – Practical & Adorable
French children’s fashion is always on point—and Montmartre keeps it easy:

African-Inspired & Culturally Rooted Shops
One of my favorite things about Montmartre—especially around La Goutte d’Or—is the diversity. You’ll find vibrant, meaningful pieces rooted in African culture:
- Maison Château Rouge – A fashion label born in this neighborhood and inspired by its energy.
- Little Africa – A concept store and gallery celebrating African excellence in fashion, art, and design.
- Kumasi Market – Best for African fabrics, home goods, and traditional prints.
- Jeunesse Internationale – Affordable African fashion staples and accessories.
Bonus: A Local’s Reminder
Montmartre isn’t the go-to place for luxury fashion—that’s what the Triangle d’Or or Champs-Élysées are for. But for unique pieces, vintage finds, and gifts with soul, Montmartre delivers in its own humble, eclectic way.
And remember: with the Paris metro, you’re rarely more than 30 minutes from another neighborhood. So shop here, wander, then hop over to Le Marais or the Grands Boulevards for more.
