ABOUT The Editor:
Hi I’m Yanique.
I moved to Paris in the beginning of 2007 from New York. In the first few months it was a whirlwind of excitement and new discoveries never imagined.
In my free time I’m usually finding ways to embarrass my kid, trying to capture every meal on instagram (I’m a weirdo I know!), people watching “en Terrace” somewhere or riding around town on my bicycle. I’m also an avid cook and budding wellness practitioner.
As a side note: I’ve given birth here, my son is in the school system here (has also gone to the creche here), have gone through many of the administrative things that foreigners go through, I’ve worked for a french e-commerce company to a university (I went from speaking zero French to being fluent).
If you’re thinking of moving here permanently, send me an email with any questions you might have. I know what it’s like to have been a fish out of water.

I hold a Masters degree in Global Marketing Communications. I’m a Writer, Digital Consultant and Event Planner. Of course my favorite full time job is being a mommy.
I started blogging back in college in 2003. Then ran a fashion blog for 5 years. Stopped that to focus on MyParisianLife and today I just run this wonderful blog and plan weddings over at ElopeinParis – We plan intimate & fun weddings and elopements in the most romantic city in the world, Paris!
I have to say I’m loving my Parisian life – and you can too!
