Paris is the best city for food lovers! And I’ve gathered all the top local, trendy and traditional Parisian cafes and restaurants you will want to bookmark for your next trip.

A mixture of top chefs, Michelin starred restaurants to favorite small less expensive options abound. Dig in and remember to make reservations where necessary.

Cafe Charlot

1.        The large outdoor seating area is perfect for people watching while you dine in the uber fashionable Marais neighborhood. 

2.        Happy Hour, with €8 cocktails, is from 7-9 P.M. Classic french dishes and salads. 

3.        For brunch, try the omelet or eggs benedict.

Chez Julien

1.        Once a 19th century bakery, Chez Julien holds to its classic French style in its décor, architecture, and cuisine. Located across from the Seine River, close to Notre Dame Cathedral.

2.        The €26 lunch formula, served weekdays from 11:30 A.M. to 2:30 P.M., includes starter, main course, and ice cream. Perfect for a romantic dinner.

Le Bistrot Paul Bert

Le Grand Véfour

1.        This 200-year-old gastronomical restaurant is led by chef Guy Martin, who takes inspiration from his travels, memories, and other sources.

2.        Lunch and dinner are served Monday through Saturday. Inside the beautiful gardens of Palais Royal. 

3.        Meals at Le Grand Vefour just taste delicious and look stunning.

Chez Georges

1.        Chez Georges opened in 1926, at the height of the Parisian Art Nouveau movement, and the décor reflects the restaurant’s roots.

2.        A great spot for a working lunch or a romantic, softly lit evening dinner.

3.        This is the place to try classic French food, like escargot or profiteroles.

Clown Bar

1.        An historical monument and it includes one of the largest natural wine cellars in France.

2.        Clown Bar is especially interested in sustainability, working directly with suppliers to respect nature and people in new and important ways.

Aux Deux Amis

1.       A local favorite. This modern bar serves smaller plates and yummy drinks alongside their classic lunch and dinner menu.

2.        Tables are limited, but expect lively music, electric atmosphere, and great for people watching.

3.        A great spot to start or end an evening with a smaller bite and a drink among the trendy.

Soya

1.        A vegetarian’s delight! Soya serves 100% plant-based food and offers a variety of organic and seasonal options.

3.        Soya offers eat-in, carry-out, and delivery in the Belleville neighbourhood.

BMK Folie-Bamako

1. The menu here is inspired by several different African countries, especially West African dishes.

2. Vegan and gluten free options are available so everyone can try a bite.

3. Everything is homemade from original recipes inside a colorful decor. 

Le Châteaubriand

1. French bistronomy: there are no menus here. Instead, the tasting menu is the same for all diners. A great wine selection too. 

2. The dishes are constantly changing according to the season and what has inspired the chef.

3. Expect to try unique, unorthodox flavor combinations that will surprise and delight.

Café Chilango

1. This spot serves authentic Mexican street food, like tacos and guacamole.

2. Try a Mexican-inspired cocktail from the bar to partner with your meal.

3. Fun atmosphere and an outdoor terrace make for a more relaxed vibe especially in the warmer months.

Ober Mamma

1. This popular Italian spot serves pizza and lasagna, along with other dishes, from their wood-fired ovens.

2. The greenhouse skylight and indoor tree make it feel like you’re eating in a garden.

3. Ober Mamma’s space is also available for private gatherings, like parties or business events.

Astier

1. A traditional well loved institution opened in the 1950’s.

2. This restaurant looks exactly like your idea of a French restaurant: red checkered tablecloths, wood paneling, and vintage photos.

3. The menu rotates with the seasons in order to serve the freshest food possible.

Le Servan

1. Le Servan has served a French and Asian fusion menu since 2014.

2. The two Franco-Philippine sisters who own the restaurant serve organic and sustainable meats and produce.

3. Try one – or both – of their two locations in Paris.

Clamato

1. Try oysters, the mixed seafood platter, or, if you’re feeling adventurous, sea urchin at this trendy seafood restaurant.

2. The menu changes based on what is delivered from the seas where the seafood is harvested.

3. All produce comes from sustainable sources using traditional harvesting techniques.

Septime

1. Try the five step lunch tasting menu or the seven step dinner tasting menu at this Michelin star restaurant.

2. Make sure to book far in advance, or you might not get a table.

3. The minimalist, industrial space sets the tone for your delicious and beautiful meal.

1. A local natural wine favorite inside this old construction yard in Pere Lachaise

2. Yard ships wine internationally, so try a glass at the bar and then ship a bottle home.

3. Small plates. Send a request to privatize the space for an event of your own.

The Hood

1. This Asian restaurant prides themselves on being an inclusive gathering place for locals.

2. Gluten free and vegan options are available, so everyone in your party can try a dish.

3. Try their coffee or traditional Asian desserts, like the yummy kaya toast.

Robert

1. Chef Daniel Morgan, winner of Le Fooding 2021 Best Chef.

2. The chef and the partners who opened Robert are especially interested in the relationship between land, produce, and food.

3. The food is unconventional and always delicious. Robert is closed on Sunday and Monday.

Fulgurance en Face

1. This wine bar serves small plates alongside drinks, anywhere from €6-€15.

2. Fulgurance en Face does not take reservations and it is a small space, so you might have to wait for a table.

3. The plate menu changes with the seasons, so expect something new with every visit.
