My parisian life

Ten Belles Paris: Sunday Afternoon Cappuccino

Today I spent an afternoon with the ladies and my son at Ten Belles Coffee Shop along the canal.
Despite the cold weather out today – 0?C – a group of us braved it and decided to have our afternoon gouter (aka afternoon snacks usually given to kids in France) at 4 pm.

Paris Coffee Shops

Squeezing into Ten Belles (it was packed) to get a seat for 5 was a bit difficult despite them having two levels because it was a tiny space and it was packed on this Sunday, proof that there is a real need for more real coffee shops in Paris.

Luckily by the time we ordered a couple at the corner table left and we sprawled out on the compact wooden benches and sipped on some cappuccino, hot chocolate, fruit juices and nibbled on some scones. We sat beside a group of 20 and 30 something girls and hipster guys: tweed blazers, thick rimmed eyeglasses, bright colored beanies, New Balances sneakers and the proverbial mix of Franglish thrown in for good measure, like “c’est un ti Too Much, non?”

You get the idea.

More info and photos after the jump…

I’ll have to go back to try their filtered coffee next time though because I really enjoyed the salvadorian mix that was in my cappuccino.

Pros: Real coffee culture – good coffee. Blends from all over the world
Relaxed vibe with a friendly staff.
Central location along the canal close to other shops and restos.
Credit card accepted starting at 10 Euros.
English spoken
Free Wi-Fi

Cons: Small, not a lot of leg room. A bit complicated to seat more than a group of 4 people. Not very ideal if you have small children or strollers (possible but tight).
