Abattoir Vegetal is a new vegan and vegetarian coffee shop slash restaurant in Paris’ 18th hood on Rue Ramey. Close to Sacre Coeur, they serve daily veggie meals and fresh squeezed detox juices and the coffee is really good in Paris, roasted from Coutume.
A winning combination these days in Paris – vegan, gluten free and organic. But much more than a cool place is the focus on the tiny details that make the restaurant feel welcoming like the tiny flowers on the marble top table and the gold chairs that pop.
There’s lots of light coming in and a perfect place for lunch or a morning coffee.
You won’t be disappointed if you’re trying to live a healthy (er) lifestyle in the city of light that; up until recently was renowned for its difficulty in adapting to vegetarians and people with gluten intolerance. (Like the other day I literally heard the French guy in the line in front of me, ask if there was chicken in the vegetarian falafel in the Marais at Mi Va Mi!! – Like ok, …bon bref…I digress!)?
On the menu you can find a mix of cooked and raw food: salads, soups and saut?ed dishes like the Thai rice with shiitake mushroom in coconut milk. For desserts they have crumbles, and fruit salads – but the menu changes regularly as they focus on fresh produce and seasonality.
There’s also a focus on keeping things local and Made in France with Beer from BapBap, Match from Umami, gluten free bread from Chambelland.
Bravo Paris! I’m not a vegetarian but I eat everything and especially ?love to have days where I go meat free. Also as a lover of really good coffee shop vibes – this place wins hands down.

Bastian who is the behind the bar is super friendly and welcoming from the moment you swing back the door – you wont find people acting too busy to great or seat you. ?We even had a little chat about his life as a song writer and travels in Kenya. ?A really cool space that is “decontracte” as we say in french – meaning unpretentious.
Be sure to bring some cash if you’re thinking of only using your card for purchases under 10 euros – you’ll have to step out to the ATM machine that’s a 5 minute walk away but this was my only gripe – so not that bad right?
So in short, Abbatoir Vegetal is a great place to have your detox, healthy food in Paris, and really good coffee. Close to metro Marcadet Poissonierres and the Sacre Couer neighborhood is a little walk away.
They are also closed on Mondays, like many places here in Paris. But the Brunch on Sundays also looks promising!
