THINGS TO DO IN PARIS [OCTOBER 2018]

The weather here in Paris is a mixed bag at times this October: its really cold one minute and you’ll need a thick jacket and then other times you want to run to the nearest rooftop to soak up some sun!

You’ll be fine with just a sweater for those cocktail and champagne sipping nights though. One thing for sure this month as we slip into Fall is that the roaster of things to do, places to eat, shop and wander is just as good if not better than other months so far.

Oh and as for the arts culture and music scene here in Paris, its ready for you!

You can take the kids out for a night at the zoo at the Paris Zoo (Paris Zoologique) and guess what it’s free!

Sustainable FASHION:

Even though we’re just wrapping up Paris fashion week, they’re still going to be lots of fashion left in Paris for October. Head out to the City Hall (Hotel de Ville) there’s going to be a show by Andrea Crews! Le Bon Coin is a website in France where you can find just about everything to buy or sell, kind of like a mixture of craigslist and eBay.  Andrea Crews has found 99 vintage pieces from that website, recycled them to create new pieces for the fashion show. And all the models are actually real people scouted in Paris.

Head over to the Nelson Mandela garden for the Marche babiole: which is kind of like a market of knickknacks people reselling vintage items or a mixture of new kitch creations.

Proceeds will go to the Emmaus foundation.

Wander

Wanted to take you guys in a little wander around an alternative part of Paris!

we’re going to be going up along the canal to possibly doing some thrift shopping of either  furniture, clothes, books, Vinyl… at Emmaus Riquet (40 Rue Riquet, Paris09 70 81 89 60 – open only Saturday and Wednesdays)  – If you can’t find your hearts desire there, go over to the other Emmaus just next door inside Cent Qautre/ 104

Cent Quatre / 104 (5 Rue Curial, 75019 Paris)  is also a great place to spend an afternoon – they have three amazing restaurants, galleries and tons of things for the kids to do!

Going in the direction of the canal- you’ll find lots of cafés and one of my favorites is called Bellerive (71 Quai de la Seine, 75019 Paris) you can sit and just watch the Parisians walk by as you enjoy your drink or one of their delicious plates of tra ditonal french food.

On the other side of the canal, you’ll find Paname Brewing Company (41 bis Quai de la Loire, 75019 Paris) with a massive collection of beers on tap as well as tapas and lots of outdoor seating.

Grande Fantasie is a riverboat ( 3 Quai de l’Oise, 75019 Paris)  stationed close to one of the beautiful bridges along the canal and they serve just very simple traditional French food they also have vegetarian options and have a really cool veggie burger with cheese.

A place to meet other newbies or seasoned Parisians and a place to ask EVERYTHING and commemorate as a community over coffee and giggles.
