About Yanique & My Parisian Life
Your insider’s guide to living, loving, and exploring Paris like a local.
Hi, I’m Yanique Francis — Jamaican-born, New Yorker-raised, and Paris-based storyteller, author, and founder of MyParisianLife.com, your go-to resource for where to eat, drink, shop, and wander in Paris.
I’ve called Paris home since 2007, trading Caribbean sunshine and NYC skyscrapers for cobblestone streets and café terraces. Over the years, I’ve uncovered the hidden gems, vibrant neighbourhoods, and soulful cafés that make this city magical. Through my blog, books, and tours, I share Paris beyond the clichés — from sipping natural wine in a tiny Montmartre bar to strolling quiet backstreets lined with history, art, and charm.

About Me
Born in Jamaica, raised in New York City, and now based in Paris, my journey has been anything but ordinary. I moved here in 2007 and instantly fell in love with the city’s rhythm — though it hasn’t always been easy! I’ve:
- Given birth here and navigated the French school system as a mom.
- Gone from speaking zero French to fluency.
- Worked across industries, from French e-commerce to university teaching.
- Launched private tours and published two books to share Paris through my own lens.
When I’m not writing or guiding, you’ll find me:
- Cycling through Montmartre with my camera.
- Hunting down the city’s best specialty coffee.
- People-watching en terrasse with a glass of wine.
- Cooking, creating, and dreaming up wellness-inspired projects.
I hold a Master’s in Global Marketing Communications, and over the years, I’ve worn many hats — writer, digital consultant, event planner, tour guide, and, my favorite, Pierre’s mom.
Partnerships & Collaborations
I love collaborating with brands, creators, and storytellers who share a passion for authentic Parisian living. If you’re a:
- Writer, photographer, or croissant enthusiast → let’s co-create content!
- Brand or company → I only partner with products and experiences I personally love and recommend to my community.
I’ve collaborated with international travel brands, boutique hotels, specialty coffee roasters, and Parisian artisans, always crafting unique, meaningful experiences.

This version flows naturally, celebrates your Jamaican heritage, and strengthens your personal brand by making your story more global and relatable.
If you’d like, I can also create a shorter sidebar bio for your blog that includes Jamaica, Paris, and your books — something punchy but SEO-friendly.
Do you want me to do that next? It’ll make your About and sidebar intro perfectly aligned.
