Dinner in Paris: Les Affames French Bistro

A lunch date took me all the way to this restaurant in the Palais Royal/ Bourse area of Paris.?We stopped in for lunch on whim to this French bistro. And to my surprise everything we had was excellent at Les Affames. Seriously the best marinated?Beef cheeks in a super rich but not overwhelming sauce, with a creamy polenta side.

The yummiest Beef Cheeks – Simple and great!

If these walls could talk, I think they’d say more than the colorful hanging walls. They’d probably talk about all the oh-ing and aww-ing that mouths do with every bite of the food here.

The atmosphere was casual chic – with a mix of well dressed 30 somethings stopping in from the office lunch break to 20 somethings in their white T-shirts and denim. All mostly chit chatting away about various french politics or office politics.

No one left even a crumb on their plates.

The wait staff was funny and super attentive always asking how we were enjoying our meal. I later spoke to the owner who is also a Chef but today was?zipping around as a waiter. Easily smiling with everyone and the attention to detail was superb. It’s a very relaxing environment to enjoy a meal in an area that can be a bit pretentious.

He told me that they never know in advance what will be on the menu – as they go with whats in season at the local market at the time. So you can be sure you’re getting some fresh produce in your plate. And at an affordable price too!

Even though off the beaten path, by now the word must be out, so there is a 50 / 50 mix of locals and tourists.

Possibly a great place to go on a date in the evening!
