I finally tried this new dim sum restaurant in Paris yesterday for lunch called Dim Sum Co. Originally, due to my hectic work load I had planned on skipping lunch.
Later, as I gave in to the hunger and a free invitation from a friend to pay for my lunch, we entered at around noon-ish to an empty restaurant (every other time I’ve walked by it’s packed).
I passed by a young chef wrapping some sort of rolls to our right, that looked like a scene out of Iron Chef.
When we got seated and were explained the days lunch menu specials by a small yet gentile man (but for the life of me I couldn’t understand half of what he what he was saying; it was the hunger pains – so I nodded, politely, yes to everything :)…
The Lunch Menu was 11 Eu and you get a choice of a meal (I had the Chinese 5 Spice Pork with rice) and a choice of a dim sum (I had the chicken rolls).
Overall, I would recommend Dim Sum Co to anyone wanting to each authentic Dim Sum and Chinese dishes in Paris with a modern twist. It’s a central location but you’ll be a on a street that also has quite a few sex shops so perhaps, if you’re conservative, not to the place you’d like to dine with your mother-in-law or impressionable kids. I for one have done both, it doesn’t bother me at all. Also this is the same street you’ll find Twinkie the American brunch restaurant and its a stones throw from Rue Greneta where you’ll find Rice and Fish.
I’ll go back to try their Bubble teas.
Here are some photos of what we had…
