CHINESE NEW YEAR IN PARIS 2014
The Year of the Wood Horse: Paris will bring in the Chinese New Year in style this year, with three, huge costumed parades.
The first will depart from Metro Belleville on the 2 February at 10:30 am, and then wind around the up and coming neighborhood. With a huge Franco-Chinese community in Belleville, all typically well-attended, and lots of fun for the entire family.
The second sets off later that afternoon from Hotel de Ville (at 2:30 pm), and will then weave through the Marais, accompanied by dancers, dragons and even lions (for the photo lovers out there visiting Paris, get your camera ready)
The main parade takes place in the 13 arrondissements a week later, February 9th. This traditional celebration welcomes in the year of the wooden horse, and with the Parisian Chinese New Year celebrations famed for being lively, boisterous, colorful and fun it should not be missed. The path of the parade is:
44, Avenue d’Ivry – Avenue de Choisy – Place d’Italie – Avenue d’Italie – Rue de Tolbiac – Avenue de Choisy – Boulevard Massana – Avenue d’Ivry.
