La Recyclerie – 83 Boulevard Ornano, Paris

La recyclerie is one of those places you walk into and can’t quite place it under a category. As the name may suggest it looks like an amalgam of recycled stuff. All placed around a central bar in a rather neat and comfortable way.

The floor upstairs has been seen to hold birthday parties. The space out back host a local farmers markets. An the section along the rail tracks is the best spot to chill and have a drink when the weather is warm. ?

Don’t be alarmed by the free range chickens – as I was! You’ll feel like you’re in a story of sorts, but it all comes together. ?

?If you’re coming by metro you’ll want to exit at Porte de Cliancourt. ?Once you see the crowd, mash up of Indian men selling wigs and and african women selling hot corn – you’re in the right? place.?

This is an area of Paris I love – that many call a quatier populaire / mixed neighborhood. ?Ironically this is where you’ll find the creative types today – not in the now tres chic ?Latin Quarter or Saint German de Pres that used to be a breeding ground for the creative crowd back int he day.?

La Recyclerie has ?changing weekly events, as it’d rule is to serve the public.

The food is exceptional – and cheap by parisian standards. They’ve simply managed to suprise me every time I’m there with the mixed cuisine: French, Indian, Vegetarian, Thai, African as mixed as its surroundings.?

Most of the plates are massive – enough to share with two people. ?So great to go as a group and order a few options with drinks after work.

Great Food – especially love the homemade salad dressings they have!
Beers and coffee for around 3euros.
Mixed crowd of local and freelancers by day and happy hour and dinner crowd by night.
