Gaite Lyrique Paris: Steps into the future
One of Paris’ oldest and most beautiful theaters has gotten a new face lift with a whole new attitude. The Gaite Lyrique is now a modern museum with all the finishing touches from the gay old Paris architecture. Opened back in September 1862 the theatre was shut down for renovations from 2004 to 2010 by the City of Paris.
5 of the 7 floors are now open to the public with exhibitions, public work spaces, libraries, play places and even a game arcade/video games floor for the kids and a cafe on the 3rd floor.
The unconventional museum welcomes all, as many sections are accessible free of charge. And they regularly hold work shops, film projections and conferences for the public such as their upcoming “GAME OLDER” a initiation for adults to the world of Video games!
( starts March 6 2012)
