TRAVEL PHOTOS: NICE, South of France
A considerable part of my summer was spent re-discovering the south of France, and here is the first set of photos from that trip to Nice. Oh, the life of a Travel Blogger.
Although a very cosmopolitan city with a kind of old tropical vibe, every time I go, I’m reminded of cuter Florida (beaches and wealthy old people included! 🙂
But seriously it’s one of my favorite places because people are so warm and the food is always so good (if you know where to go!). Not to mention you can stock up on some of the best spices, herbs and soaps here. ?We mostly wandered, enjoyed a walk in the city center where we did some buying of vintage postcards (many with extensive notes dating back to the 1920!), ate the traditional Socca ( a yummy savory flat bread like thing made from chick peas), walked all the way up to the old castle to see the magnificent view of the harbor and the old town below.
I was surprised that I couldn’t find a good coffee shop though. Oh my God – am I becoming a coffee snob? gasp!
In any event I’ll write a longer review of the trip later for you guys. ?For now I hope you enjoy the photos, especially if it’s cold where you are – like here in Paris right now – you can escape with a little warm weather wanderlust.
xo
PS The Kitchn gives a good guide on Food from Nice you should try on your next trip. You can see photos of my Socca and Farci here and I highly recommend you try all of them!

Beautiful pictures. This is a city I want to travel to.

I totally fell in love with the French Riviera. My boyfriend and I spent around two weeks exploring the region, and our favorite thing about the trip was the food, especially the ice-cream we had in Nice and the Swiss Chard pies!
We based ourselves in Nice but took several day trips to other stunning places, including Eze and Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat (which I highly recommend!)
These photos capture the true beauty and spirit of Nice!
