BLOG REVIEW: Hotel Monge, 55 Rue Monge Paris 75005
If you love small boutique hotels when you travel. You will especially love this one I found with a rich family history; Hotel Monge, located on a typical Parisian street sitting at 55 Rue Monge a few meters down from metro Cardinal Lemoine line 10 in the 5th arrondissement. Traditionally the Rive Gauche one of the best neighborhoods to stay while visiting Paris because of its proximity to?Jardin des Plantes (botanical garden),Roman remains of the Arenes de Lut?ce and the Rue Mouffetard.
When we visited we were told the 30 room boutique hotel decor has been recently renovated by star team Marie Agnes Louboutin and Patrice Henry and it all gives the feel of Architectural Digest meets Domino magazine (remember them). I digress, but stay with me as I enjoyed a little weekend Staycation at this new hotel!
Let’s tall about the bold decor that was a lot of old world luxury via strong animals doors of elephant bookends, seashell mirrors and mixed with bright modern Deyrolle wall papers (first experienced this in the scrolling wall elevator – I almost tripped out – but it was a pleasant surprise after all! 🙂

The family run boutique hotel (same folks from that other boutique we reviewed here: Fabric Hotel?) is equipped with fast wi-fi cable TV super comfy beds, in what I like to call “typical” Parisian sized rooms – not big but has everything you need to feel uber luxurious. And the bathrooms are stocked with the best french beauty products of L’Occitane.
The dinning area has an honesty bar and a special touch for all my american friends: real breakfast, I mean like not just croissant, crepes nutella, but also bacon and eggs rare to find except in the 5 star hotels such a comprehensive fresh mix of food and fruits. gluten-free lovers you’d not forgotten you will find there’s a special table just for you!
What more? Yes, the staff are super friendly multilingual, english and Spanish spoken fluently.
I took so many photos – but for some reason I made two edits and now I can’t find half the photos. But you guys get the feel of the 4 star hotel right?
