If you're ever in the 18th arrondisment - near the metro Max Dormoy you must take the time to walk around in a part of Paris that still has an old soul. Marche d'Olive is one of my favorite places to food shop on a sunday morning (they are closed in Sunday afternoons and on Mondays). On first glance you might find this area noisy and dirty and somewhat not as "sexy" as say Rue St. Honore, but this little corner of Paris is "real". I just love walking into this covered market and seeing a[...]
I celebrated my birthday last week and I was treated, by two of the loveliest people I know, to a surprise dinner at Le Duaphin! I've long heard of and walked passed this little glass wall resto at 131 avenue Parmentier, in the 11th arrondissement, so many times. I was super excited to finally try out the concept space that's next door to Le Chateaubriand. In its essence its a pristine wine bar with a simplistic experimental menu that changes everyday - and the dishes are served kind of t[...]
Today I spent an afternoon with the ladies and my son at Ten Belles Coffee Shop along the canal. Despite the cold weather out today - 0?C - a group of us braved it and decided to have our afternoon gouter (aka afternoon snacks usually given to kids in France) at 4 pm. Squeezing into Ten Belles (it was packed) to get a seat for 5 was a bit difficult despite them having two levels because it was a tiny space and it was packed on this Sunday, proof that there is a real need for more re[...]
Le Richer is another cozy little Parisian restaurant that a friend introduced me to last week that I wanted to share with you. My friend and I are perpetually in search of finding ways to die fat and happy :) So like the good girls we are we can't resist trying new restaurants.? Prefect for drinks out with the girls or romantic nights out with your significant other, as the tables we're filled with either of the these two groups. Recently opened in the 9th arrondissement ( neighborhood[...]
If you're looking for a nice little romantic restaurant in Montmartre - close to Sacre Coeur but not a tourist trap - where the food is both good and reasonably priced then you'll like Le Gabin. One Tuesday night after work a friend and I shimmied into this little place that I've passed by many times ( but on that particular night I was in a "why not?" slash too-tired mood). The space was small and intimate. Because it was empty when we showed up at around 8pm, I was thinking that t[...]
