Telescope is a small and cheerful little coffee shop close to Palais Royal in the 1st Arrondissement. Tucked away on quiet Rue Villedo and adorned with a very minimalist yet chirpy interior decor. It was around 9:30 am and my plan was to ride my bike over, that didn't happen so I hopped on the 48 instead - but lo and behold, I made it! After 6 years Paris has taken a close second to my favorite city in the world: NYC. And funnily enough last night I dropped into a resutarnt called Paris New York. My son and I spent last Sunday afternoon enjoying a Cappuccino and Babycino, reading magazines, coloring books and playing the cutest little pink piano at Tuck Shop. Today I spent an afternoon with the ladies and my son at Ten Belles Coffee Shop along the canal. Despite the cold weather out today - 0?C - a group of us braved it and decided to have our afternoon gouter (aka afternoon snacks usually given to kids in France) at 4 pm. There are many cool coffee shops in Paris now that have borrowed from the American ( in this case Australian) style coffee shops, where you go for great coffee in all it's forms - with accompaniment of cakes, cookies, sandwiches, tarts etc whether it be morning or afternoon. When I strolled into Lomi Cafe on a quite Paris street in the 18th arr, it was around 10:30AM on a Sunday morning I had no expectations.
