Telescope is a small and cheerful little coffee shop close to Palais Royal in the 1st Arrondissement. Tucked away on quiet Rue Villedo and adorned with a very minimalist yet chirpy interior decor.

You can order your coffee to-go or better yet, stay if you have the time, grab something to read while there like the shops’ copy of Le Monde, Le Parisien… and just enjoy the serenity of the shop and the good brew. The folks here are quite friendly so you might find yourself easily being carried away in small talk with the baristas – something you appreciate and miss if you’re not from France.
An Espresso is around 2 Euros and a Creme is 4 Euros. You’ll no longer be able to get the in-house blend of coffee (Dommage! as the filtered Kenyan blend I tasted had a jazzy balance I really liked) but they have coffee from Has Bean and another place I’ve shamefully forgotten now.
“Make it Simple and Significant” seems to be a mantra followed by the owners of Telescope.
